Emergency Response to Electric Vehicle Incidents” is designed to introduce first responders to the basic design and hazards of battery operated or hybrid vehicles and provides attendees with the advanced knowledge and skills needed to respond to and address EV emergencies. Participants will leave prepared to operate as a member of a team capable of responding to emergencies involving alternative fuel vehicles, where advanced vehicle rescue may be needed.
Event Split into 2 portions: Classroom Portion: 4 hours covering statistics, vehicle types, technology, vehicle charging, extrication and other tactics. We are limited to 80 students per day. Hands-on Portion: Participants will be putting this information into practice on cars outside in various scenarios. We are limited to only 40 participants per day. Proceeds from the event will go towards purchasing specialized equipment and kits to donate to local fire departments |
